Important Updates

As we enter into the New Year there are some important updates for you to know.

1. The municipal office will be closed for the holidays beginning Monday, December 22, 2025 and re-opening on Monday, January 5, 2026.

2. 72 hour preparedness kits will continue to be distributed in January. New dates/times will be provided in January.  Please leave a message at 807-475-3185 ext. 4 or 3 with your name and how many live in your household. Leaving this message automatically triggers the appropriate sized kit to be delivered for the next pick up date. It is logistically impossible to contact everyone back to arrange for pickup and therefore you are  simply asked to leave a name/household count and your kit will be waiting for you to pick up. If you are unable to pick up your kit simply leave a message and let us know, your kit will be held for you to pick up on the next available date. It is important to note that kits are not being distributed by staff and no kits will be provided outside of the posted pick up dates/times. The kits have been made possible as part of the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant.

3. The 2026 Council Meeting Schedule will be posted in early January.

4. A reminder that 2026 is a municipal election year.  AMO's (Association of Municipalities of Ontario) is offering the Healthy Democracy Leadership Series free of charge to first time candidates, as well as returning candidates.
