The BAO’s Consumer Information Guide: A Guide to Death Care in Ontario is a free consumer-protection information booklet. The guide is written for families and the public to know their rights and responsibilities before entering into contracts with organizations that are licensed under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002. All licensees of the BAO are required to provide consumers with a copy of this guide.

The BAO urges all consumers to access A Guide to Death Care in Ontario ahead of time and encourages them to read through the guide, plan ahead and ask a lot of questions prior to entering into a contract with a provider.

What are the visiting hours of Riverside Cemetery?
Visitors are welcome at the Cemetery during the open hours, from 8:00am until sundown every day, including Statutory Holidays.
Can you drive into Riverside Cemetery?
Yes, it is vehicle accessible. Please be careful of the grave sites when pulling into the Cemetery. Vehicles within the Cemetery shall be driven at a rate of speed of not more than 10km/hr. No recreational vehicles, all terrain vehicles or snowmobiles are allowed in the Cemetery at any time. 
Who maintains the Riverside Cemetery?
The Township of Gillies maintains the Riverside Cemetery all year round.
Can artificial flowers be placed on grave sites?

Artificial flowers are permitted at the Cemetery, provided they are properly maintained by the Interment Rights Holder and are not otherwise detrimental to the general maintenance of the Cemetery.

The Township reserves the right to remove all flowers, potted plants, wreaths and baskets of flowers when they become withered or unsightly, or for any other reason such removals are in the best interest of the Cemetery
